OCC - Black, White and Texture!!

Hello and happy Saturday!!
I'm sad to say this will be my last post as a designer for Our Creative Corner! I have really enjoyed being a part of this team but I'm finding it just too difficult to fit everything into my already over-taxed schedule and something had to give! So, after 14 months with these wonderful people I have chosen to move on!! I sincerely hope I'll still find time to occasionally play along though!!!

Now onto today's AWESOME challenge, which was another of Loretta Lock's FABULOUS ideas!!

Sometimes, texture speaks louder than colour. Your challenge is to make a
black and white card with lots of texture. And as a bonus, use text as your focal image rather than a coloured image…

...I obviously do NOT get the bonus...hehehe!

Please join us this week by leaving a link to your creation back at the Our Creative Corner blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and another HUGE THANKS to all the wonderful ladies at the OCC for being such wonderful inspiration every week!

C4C37 Pocketful of Seeds!

It's challenge time again at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week Frances Byrne has another challenge for us.

Being that this is the 3rd Saturday of the month, this week is a prize challenge. Our prize is donated by our sponsor for the next couple of weeks which is The Stamping Boutique.

Our challenge this week is to create a card/project that has some form of pocket on it. You can use a stamp of a pocket, create a pocket style construction card, paper pieced pocket, pocket themed designer paper .... whatever as long as it has a pocket somewhere.

I decided to go with a pocket card to put a packet of seeds in!!

I used this cute little Bugaboo Fat Mouse from Totally Stampalicious!

Here's a peek at the inside pocket!
I simply started with a 5 X 12 pice of cardstock, scored the long side at 4" and 8" and cut the last 4" panel on an angle to create the pocket! Easy-Peezy Lemon Squeezy!

I think I will swap out the Basil seeds for some wildflowers or somthing...these were just what I happened to have on hand!

Be sure to play along with us and leave a link over at the C4C Blog and if you upload ot SCS or any other online gallery use Keyword C4C37!

Thanks so much for poppin' by today!

C4C36 Snips and Snails!

Happy Saturday!!! I'm back from my whirlwind Wedding in Vegas and I gotta tell you...it ROCKED!! I've shared a few wedding photo's (no candids yet) so you can scroll down a little if you're interested!!

Now onto today's news!!! Cindy and Frances are sharing the hostessing Duties this month for the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog and they have us using the old poem
What are little boys made of?
Snips and Snails
and Puppy Dog Tails

Well as it turns out, Totally Stampalicious just release a Bugaboo Brat set with that very same sentiment on it!!! PERFECT!!

My son will be celebrating his 6th birthday right away and this might just be the perfect card for him!!!

I hope you'll join us this week...just be sure to link back to the C4C Blog and if you upload to SCS use Keyword C4C36!

Thanks for poppin' by and if you're up for one more challenge just scroll down to see what else if going on!!

OCC - Anniversary Celebrations

You just have to check out the SUPER fun challenge that Loretta Lock has for us over at Our Creative Corner!!! I found this soooo interesting!! She had making anniversary cards inspired by the 'traditional gift' of the year you're celebrating!

I decided to go with the 20 Year Anniversary which is traditionally China! Well, I don't actually have any china to use on a card so I improvised and went with an oriental theme....that's close right??
I chose the 20 Year Anniversary as I *think* that it will be 20 years for my Mom and Step-Dad this month!!

Once again, I went with a kraft and black color combo and used my latest, greatest and favorit-est tool...the Butterflies embosslit from SU!! THe sentiment and matching Asian character are from CTMH's Kanji Phrases.

So if you're interested in playing along, you can check out this site here to find out all the different traditional gifts for each year and then link your creation back to the OCC Blog using Mr. Linky!! Use Keyword OCCC if uploading to SCS!!

Thanks for stoppin' by and if you're interested in having a peek at my wedding....just scroll down a little!!

My Vegas Wedding!

Well I'm back and I'm so very happy to announce that I'm married!!! Now I realize that some of you may have thought I was already married as I have always referred to Dalton as my hubby...and in our hearts, that's been true for a very long time!! Dalton and I have been together for 10 years but we just now made it 'official'!!

I really did NOT want a fancy wedding...in fact, while lying poolside the day of the wedding, I asked my girlfriends if they thought Dalton would mind if I called the Chapel and just had the Minister meet us down by the pool! The general consensus was that Dalton didn't wear a tux to hang by the pool and we should all probably wear the dresses we bought for the occasion...*sigh*...OK fine!!

So at 4:30PM Saturday May 1, 2010, I married the love of my life!

Here are just a few pictures to share with you!!

I am so happy here!!!

The girls havin' a little fun...I think Dalton's havin' some fun too!!

Me and the guys!!

Here is the whole party...this is all of the people that came with us to Vegas!

So here we are making it official!!
And my fave photo of us!!

My fave photo of my super hot husband!!
So there you have it!!! There are many, many more photos of our experiences in Vegas...but we all have to go through the cameras and decided which ones can be aired publicly...hehehe...

To be continued.....
